Jesús Eduardo González Veliz (born October 3, 1984 in Phoenix, Arizona) is a Mexican-American professional boxer in the Super Middleweight division. González is the current NABF and IBF North American Super Middleweight Champion.〔(Star Boxing Signs Light Middleweight Contender Jesus "El Martillo" Gonzalez )〕 González was considered by boxing critics to be one of the top amateur medal contenders for the U.S. in the 2004 Summer Olympics.〔(Boxing News: Jesus Gonzalez; Darren Sunderland; James Moore )〕
==Amateur career==
González decorated amateur career includes wins over 2004 Olympic Gold Medalist and current WBA World Super Middleweight Champion Andre Ward (24-0, 13KO); WBO Light Middleweight Champion Alfredo Angulo (19-1, 16KO); IBA Intercontinental Light Middleweight champion Sechew Powell (26-2, 15KO); and an astonishing four wins over former WBC Welterweight Champion Andre Berto (27-1, 21KO).
In addition, González won the National Boxing Championship in the middleweight division in 2002.
